New Studio Strobes and other toys...

I realized it's been quite some time since i've made a post, and I have made a couple fun purchases since my last post, so i decided to update you a little. I purchased 2 1600 watt alienbee studio strobes, some of the cheap ebay wireless flash triggers, and a "digital" holga lens (basically just the holga lens glued onto a canon body cap... cheap, but fun nonetheless!) I figured I ought to post some new pictures up so you could give them a look!

The alienbees test shots:

This is Olivia's latest look, I'm getting this smug expression on a daily basis now, oh ten year old sisters. :)

And the Holga lens:

I know it's a little noisy, but it was dark by the time the mail came, so I had to play around with it indoors with the iso turned up real high, notice the sweet spot is through the center and top-center of the pictures with the nice holga-esque dropoff very evident everywhere else. I'm quite pleased with the lens! It definitely turns my very expensive DSLR images into very cheap looking Holga replicas :)

we've gone a'wandering

Camera in hand, we wandered down to the piers, looking for some kind of adventure. We found some gulls, the market, and about a dozen strung out hobos. Great.

craftivity... monday?

Well, this is going to be a quick post. Tonight troy and i found instructions online for how to make wide angle and fisheye lenses for a point and shoot camera. Since materials were cheap, and since i don't really have any fun photographic toys at the moment, troy and i decided it was in our best intrest to make one of these contraptions. Here is a sample photo, tomorrow i'm going into Seattle, so i'll get to try out it's full potential downtown.

panoramas

Today i did some panoramas, the weather was pretty warm so i decided to go out and photograph, i photograph near the potato cellars quite a bit, there's some great volcanic rock and stuff a little further down the road but that will have to wait for another day to make it into a post. Maybe after the snow has melted down a little more.
